New Series: Hyer Fashion Dupes

There nothing more satisfying that longing over a high priced item and finding a dupe for it. Today I’m sharing part one of an on going series titled ‘Hyer Fashion Dupes’ In this series I’ll be sharing all of my favorite high end items and similar or comparable finds.

Today’s find, booties! While I do have an obsession for shoes, I hate to spend a ton of money on them. I tend to be …. a clumsy walker, and my poor shoes suffer in the end.

I’ve been oogling these Steve Madden booties since the Nsale but I know I’m not speaking for myself when I say that $130 for booties is a hard pill to swallow. Especially when there are so many affordable options there.

I ALWAYS shop the shoe section of Target so when I stumbled on their website, I went straight to their shoe category and found these booties by Universal Thread. These booties come in 3 different colors ( including an olive shade that I’m obsessed with) and have the same laser cut design on the back end of the shoe. The fit is true to size. I purchased these in black but might have to go back a snag the olive…. and the taupe.

Home Decor: Fall Fireplace

How many pumpkins is too many pumpkins?! That’s the thought that was running through my head while I was shopping Home Goods and Hobby Lobby for some home decor items this past weekend. I ended up finding some really great pieces that will work not just through Halloween but all fall long.

The fireplace in my living room is the focal point so I wanted to bring it to life for my favorite season.  I kept everything really neutral. When it comes to decorating, especially for holidays, I tend to stay away from the true colors that represent say, Halloween or Christmas. You can totally still bring any particular season or holiday to light while keeping things light modern and neutral.

I wanted a really cozy feel so I picked up a this basket from Hobby Lobby to throw a bunch of blankets in. I like to keep it on the cooler side in my house so there is never as shortage of comfy blankets in my living room.

Next to that, I arranged 3 pumpkins together all with different textures. There is a ton of variety at home goods, and Hobby Lobby so choose your personal favs!

Another element I wanted to incorporate was warmth and light so I picked up some warm string lights to fill in a lantern. I included the cotton stems and the galvanized ‘Hi’ sign with the lantern to add some dimension with height.

I absolutely love how this little nook of my home came out! What’s your favorite season to decorate for?!

Fall Staple: Camo Utility Jacket

So there’s something you should probably know about me.. if it comes in camo, I’m going to buy it. If you’re like me, you probably own camo pants, camo tops, camo shoes, camo jackets…all things camo. Today I’m sharing one utility jacket in particular that is under $40 and a fall staple!

This utility jacket from Old Navy is such a practical piece – it’s casual enough to throw on for a walk in the park or has details that make it feminine enough to wear for a night out with a pair of heels. The jacket has a mock neck and drawstrings on the waist to cinch and give it a more fitted look. The jacket has elastic cuffs – which to be honest I didn’t think I was going to love but I think it gives the jacket some edge. I love this jacket – the pattern isn’t overwhelming, it’s lightweight and AFFORDABLE.

I’m wearing a size XS Petite – Fit is TTS.

Jersey T-Shirt Dress 3 Ways

September is finally here! Does anyone else get really antsy the moment September comes!? I can say for sure that I’m ready for the cooler weather!

My new favorite piece of attire is a T-shirt dress and I’ve found a great 3/4 sleeved option for fall. The best thing about this dress is that it’s extremely versatile so today I’m going to show you how I style this dress 3 ways.

First, let’s just focus on how classic this dress looks on its own. For this look, I kept things pretty simple and paired it with the most adorable blush mules (linked below). Since the dress has sleeves it’s a great transition piece for a girls night out or date night.

Next, I dressed it down with a pair of sandals and a denim jacket, which I’m also obsessed with (more on this piece at a later date!). I love the laid back feel of this look with the jacket tied around the waist.

Finally, I styled this dress for a more ‘work appropriate’ look. Just as a sidebar… I bought this dress in a petite XS as I wanted the length to be a bit on the shorter side. If I had purchased a regular XS I could totally get away with wearing this to work as it hit just above my knee. Anyway, I threw an oversized cardigan over top of the dress (idk about you but my office is always chilly!) and a pair of heels. I adore this look the most!

Trending: Front Tie Button Ups

Happy Pumpkin Spice Latte launch day! It’s one thing that lightens the blow of summer ending…

When this post goes live, I’ll be in the midst of a heat wave. However, that’s not going to stop me from sharing a staple transitional top with you.

Front tie button up tops are popping up everywhere and in my opinion they are a must have! They are my go to when I want to be comfortable but still look put together.

Today I’m sharing this front tie button up top from Abercrombie (a retailer I’ve found myself shopping with more and more recently). This top in particular is soooo soft and comfortable! It’s lightweight so you can wear it under a utility jacket OR wear it unbuttoned over a cami. It also looks great in its own..

The top I’m wearing here is long sleeved but there are plenty of similar pieces that are quarter sleeved, short sleeved or even sleeveless that I’ll link below!

How To: Style All White Looks

I’m not exactly sure why I don’t wear all white more often.. I wore this look out to dinner on the water last night and it was soo easy breezy and a great summer to fall transition outfit. Thank goodness for the cardigan because it was chillly!

Last night I went with a white cami and a pair of white high waisted jeans. Two very simple pieces but the bright white just makes everything feel so chic. My personal favorite way to style an all white look is to pair a couple of neutral pieces with the outfit, like beiges or taupes. The cardigan and booties added style to the look without distracting from the crisp appeal of the outfit.
