No matter what time of year it is I am always layering. BUT for as great as spring is, the transition from winter is always a gamble. It’s chilly now, but will I be sweltering later? Will I become one giant goosebump if I just wear this t-shirt? You just never know.
Lightweight cardigans, jean jackets, and utility vests are all my jam when it comes to choosing an outfit for spring during the transitional phase. Those are a few key pieces I like to rotate throughout my wardrobe that you can pair with so many of your favorite basics that you probably already have in your closet! With Valentine’s Day being nearly a week away, I wanted to share some fun, and maybe not so typical looks with you all! I do admit, red and pink are not my favorite colors. ::cough:: anything other than neutral makes me uncomfortable. ::cough:: I’m only kinda kidding about that.
I took a poll on Instagram to gauge who was staying in and who was going out this Valentine’s Day. It was a close call – 60% voted staying in while 40% of you voted going out. I put together some options for either event!
First up is this adorable PJs set from Forever21. I thought this was such a cute way to stay festive while staying home! And those socks, they’re chenille….
While leopard might not be the first pattern that comes to mind for Valentine’s Day, I saw this dress online at Nordstrom and thought it would make the cutest date night look! I love that you can dress it down with booties, or keep it fancy with a pair of heels.
I think this casual look is my favorite! If you and your significant other are anything like me and my fiance and just end up low key grabbing a bite to eat together, this is such a cute way to keep it casual but still show some Valentine’s day spirit!
So tell me! What are your plans for Valentines Day!?
Last week on Insta I shared that my blogger bestie and I had a content planning session. I’ve always had a planner for projects at work and my personal to-do’s but up until now haven’t really planned any content for my blog or instagram.
I know a lot of people use a multiple planning system buuut that doesn’t work for me – it’s way too much to keep track of so I got a planner that allows me to segment my day and different categories, like blog and social media content!
This year I went with a Plum Paper vertical planner with headers that I can fill out for whatever the weeks needs will be. But I always leave a section toward the bottom of the planner for blog/social media content.
I’ll track 1/3 or even 3/3 of the following in the blog/social media of my planner:
1. Social media posts – if there is a specific post I want to plan ahead for, I’ll mark the date I want to post the image in my planner.
2. Photo shoots – I always plan my outfits out ahead of time. I use this section of my planner to keep track of what outfits I want to shoot when. I’ll also make notes to myself as I am a very forgetful person! If I want to remember to shoot a detail shot of jewelry or shoes, ill make note of it under the outfit idea.
3. Content timelines/deadlines- The space allows me to jot down deadlines for myself. For instance if I want to get a blog post up by Friday, I usually like to have the content and post all completed by Wednesday. This section is huge on holding me accountable to get my sh*t done and in order.
Another way I use this space for content and deadlines is for purchases! If I want to put together say, an amazon haul, I’ll include when I need to place the order by so I have everything I need by the time I’m ready to shoot the content.
The side bar section is also really helpful as well. The notes section of this planner is great to make lists of items I need, or want to purchase.
I feel so much more confident that I will provide consistent content for you guys after figuring out this system! If you’re interested in this specific planner I’ll link it here. Keep in mind they have multiple layouts that you can choose from so you can find something that works for you specifically.
February Already!? Honestly, I’m okay with it. It just means we are one month closer to spring which means we are one month closer to leaving behind the 5 degree weather we’ve been having in New Jersey….BURRR.
It also means we’ve entered the month of lo0o0ove. My fiance and I really never celebrate Valentines day or exchange gifts but I might ask for one of these items that I am sharing with you all today…
I admit, I am swooning over all of the heart shaped gifts floating around all the stores for! Today I’m sharing a bunch of great gift ideas for your friends, sister, co-worker … whomever! I think these items would make the cutest gifts if you are celebrating Galentines day with your girls and wanna exchange a little sommin, sommin.
Or if you see something you like, you can also nonchalantly e-mail this blog link to your significant other 😉
I’ve been obsessed with skin care ever since high school. I’ve experimented with numerous brands and products. Origins is a brand I’ve found that never disappoints!
One of my favorite products is their Charcoal Mask. I use this on an as needed basis when my skin misbehaves. I apply a generous amount to my problem areas or all over my face, (depends on my mood) and let it sit for 30 minutes – an hour. The charcoal helps extract all the ‘gunk’ that sits in your pores. It’s like a deep cleaning product for your skin.
I’ll even use this as a spot treatment overnight if I have a stubborn spot I’m trying to eliminate. It will reduce the redness and clears up my skin much quicker.
I’ve used this all year round and find it doesn’t dry my skin out in the winter time so I’d definitely recommend this for all skin types!
